【Just Pause EP.6】Inner Child Connection

This month in Taiwan, we celebrate the magic of children! The boundless energy and creative spirit of children are always an inspiration for us as mothers, parents, and educators. However, as we get older, we often get bogged down by the “reality” of the adult world. Where does our playful, creative spirit go? Today, I’d like to invite us to have a little bit of fun by calling back our very own “inner child,” who still very much exists in every one of us. Let’s get imaginative and breathe!

【Just Pause EP.5】Are You Too Hard On Yourself?

How many of you ask extremely highly of yourself? Even more so after you’ve become a parent? You have meals to prep, house to clean, work to get done, kids to take care of, all while finding time to make sure you look the part. So, when things do not go the way you’ve carefully planned, it can feel extra frustrating. This perfectionism mentality can be exhausting, as well as common. On the extreme level, perfectionism have been linked to depression, anxiety, OCD, and other mental, emotional, physical health problems.

Fortunately, we can all ease back a little bit and really look at how well we are truly doing. In this meditation, Jessica invites you to restructure this mindset and examine its validity. With the same type of love and care we give our children, are we willing to share some of that nurturing to ourselves?

【Just Pause EP.4】SOS! I'm About To Lose It

As caretakers or parents, we wear so many hats and switch between so many roles as we take care of everyone else around us. It makes sense that this constant busyness can lead to emotional outbursts or burnouts.

A 42-country study in 2018 indicated that at least 5% of parents experience “burnouts.” Simply, they are stretched way too thin. Do you resonate? In this episode, Jessica provides a moment of pause amidst the chaos, guiding you to come home to yourself regardless of how you feel at the moment. Remember, we are all humans and you are not a “bad” parent for feeling the way you do. Let us find ourselves again with this meditation.

【Just Pause EP.3】How Do You Unwind From Your Day?

After a long day or week, do you notice how you close out your evenings? For many of us these days, highly likely do we find ourselves sitting in bed mindlessly watching Netflix dramas or scrolling through social media until our eyelids are heavy. It is not surprising then that studies have shown screen time before bedtime can drastically increase the amount of time it takes to fall asleep, while more importantly, reduce our sleep quality and affect our focus the following day. So, what if we intentionally took the time to wind down mindfully? In this episode, cozy up and unwind from your day, even if it’s a much needed nap, by following Jessica’s meditation to relax the mind, body, and soul for a truly “restful” sleep.
